Chapter 1
When Yansu woke up, he felt sticky on his back, as if sweat had soaked through his clothes, accompanied by a burning sensation. He opened his eyes and his gaze fell on the furnishings in the room, leaving him stunned.
It was an extremely simple room, especially narrow, no more than ten square meters at most. Apart from the bed and the table, there were some miscellaneous items piled up in the corners.
At first glance, it was evident that the owner of the room was very poor.
And at this moment, he was lying on this hard bed.
Yansu twisted his body on the bed, trying to get up, only to find that his hands were not listening to him. Upon closer inspection, he realized that his hands were tied behind his back, and he himself was curled up in a very twisted posture.
What’s going on?
Was the owner of this body kidnapped?
As a new employee of the Quick Transmigration Company, this was Yansu’s second world experience. He closed his eyes and began to absorb the plot of this world.
It was a story of a fake young master.
Eighteen years ago, the Qu family in Fengjiang City was still a newly rich upstart. The Qu family couple, in order to pursue their careers, sent their eldest son back to their rural hometown as soon as he was born, to be raised by his grandparents, until they were over thirty years old. After that, Mrs. Qu became pregnant again and gave birth to their youngest son, Qu Hongkai.
Qu Hongkai was born with congenital heart disease, and the Qu family couple wished to pamper him like a treasure, holding him in the palm of their hands and cherishing him even more than before, thus growing increasingly distant from their eldest son.
So they raised him like this until he turned eighteen and went to college. Suddenly, news came like a bolt from the blue.
It turned out that Qu Hongkai was not the Qu family’s biological son.
Eighteen years ago, when Mrs. Qu was giving birth in the hospital, there was a pregnant woman named Yao Cui staying in the neighboring ward. Yao Cui’s family had a hereditary disease, which she was unaware of when she was in the countryside, but after moving to the city and working as a cleaner in the hospital, she gradually learned some medical knowledge from interacting with medical staff. For example, if she, in her condition, were to become pregnant, the chance of her child having an inherited disease would be very high.
Yao Cui originally held some hope, but after giving birth to a sickly child, she felt that her life had completely fallen into an irretrievable situation.
Remembering a TV drama she had watched not long ago, in which the mother of the female protagonist swapped her child with that of a wealthy family to give her daughter a better life, Yao Cui came up with a bad idea. She quickly targeted Mrs. Qu in the neighboring ward, and when no one was paying attention, she exchanged her child with Mrs. Qu’s child. She sincerely hoped that her weak son would live the life of a young master in the Qu family.
She kept this matter a secret even from her husband. After swapping the children, she quickly returned to the countryside and named her son Cui Yang.
Yao Cui thought she could deceive everyone for the rest of her life, but who knew that Cui Yang had a talent for studying, and even in the backward educational resources of the countryside, he still managed to get into Fengjiang University.
The moment she received the admission letter, Yao Cui had only one thought in her mind: she couldn’t let Cui Yang go to college. She couldn’t let him set foot in Fengjiang City for the rest of his life.
She revealed the truth to her husband, and Mr. Cui was shocked, then ecstatic.
He had been poor all his life, but who would have thought that his wife would send their biological son to a wealthy family as a young master? This was his chance to get rich.
Mr. Cui was even more ruthless and decisive than Yao Cui. Without hesitation, he hid Cui Yang’s admission letter, kept him locked up at home for several months, and when he missed the deadline to report to school, he sent him to work at a small supermarket owned by a relative in the county town.
Coincidentally, at this time, the Qu family discovered the child-swapping incident and came knocking on their door.
After discussing with Yao Cui, Mr. and Mrs. Cui portrayed themselves as a pitiful and innocent couple to the Qu family, pouring out their grievances. When they found that the Qu family was very fond of Qu Hongkai and not too concerned about their actual biological son being swapped, they were overjoyed.
Seizing the opportunity, they slandered Cui Yang, saying he was a troublemaker who had stolen money from home six months ago and disappeared.
The Qu family believed them without investigation. After all, they already had an excellent eldest son and an affectionate adopted son. If Cui Yang was really as described by Yao Cui, a social delinquent, bringing him back would only disgrace the Qu family.
Cui Yang only learned the truth about his identity five years later, but it was too late.
Yao Cui and Mr. Cui had been living with the Qu family as if they were one family. They all pampered Qu Hongkai, and even the older brother treated the younger brother like a son, willing to give up his shares of the Qu family company to Qu Hongkai.
Everyone treated Qu Hongkai like a precious baby; he was the envy of everyone’s life. He was engaged to a rich girl from a wealthy family, and his future was bright.
As for Cui Yang, he was just a negligible stumbling block in his glamorous life.
Yansu, who had traversed this body, was Cui Yang.
After reading the plot, he couldn’t help but smirk. First and foremost, he had to leave the Cui family and go to college with the admission letter.
In the plot, the fake young master Qu Hongkai also attended Fengjiang University, but Qu Hongkai was delicate and not very intelligent. He couldn’t endure the hardships of studying, relying entirely on the Qu family’s connections to enter the university as an art student.
While Yansu was deeply engrossed in his thoughts, a low voice suddenly came from outside the door.
“Yang Yang, are you hungry? Mom brought you some food.”
Yansu’s expression changed, and he quickly hid the rope under the bed, then twisted his body back into the twisted posture as if his hands were still tied behind his back, pulling the blanket over himself.
Without waiting for a response from Yansu, Yao Cui pushed open the door. She was holding a bowl of steaming noodles in her hand, looking at Yansu with a complex expression, and sighed softly.
“Yang Yang, don’t blame Mom and Dad for being heartless. We just don’t want you to be too far away from us. You’ve never left home since you were a child. If you leave us, Mom and Dad won’t know where to find you if you get lost.”
As she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes.
Yansu rolled his eyes inwardly. Yao Cui and Mr. Cui were calculating, to
say the least. They wanted to keep Cui Yang tied to a small county town, ruining his life.
No wonder in the plot, when Cui Yang learned the truth and returned to the Qu family, he became so crazy.
Crazy to retaliate against Yao Cui and Mr. Cui, crazy with jealousy towards Qu Hongkai, attempting to replace him.
Of course, his ending was not so good either. In the end, he was severely punished by his biological parents and adoptive parents, suffering the consequences and eventually becoming a homeless wanderer on the streets of a remote city.
A few years later, the news of Qu Hongkai’s marriage to the rich girl spread everywhere. Cui Yang died of depression, carrying despair and unwillingness to his grave.
Seeing Yansu silent with his head down, Yao Cui said nothing more. She and her adopted son had a shallow relationship, and there was really nothing left to say.
She frowned and got up to leave the room, completely forgetting that her adopted son’s hands were tied behind his back, and how he was supposed to eat the noodles.
