Chapter 47

Jiang Xuefeng arrived at the hot spring resort and first entered the suite his cousin had booked. As soon as he opened the door, the sight of the entangled couple inside nearly blinded him.

Had his cousin already succeeded in getting Yan Shu drunk ahead of time?

With this thought in mind, he took a closer look at the pair.

When he recognized the man and woman, he was shocked and almost cried out. It turned out the man was Su Ye, and the woman was Yan Jiaoyue. The two were dazed, clinging to each other and kissing passionately.

“Second Young Master Su, Miss Yan, what are you doing?” Jiang Xuefeng was momentarily flustered but quickly regained his composure.

After all, he had years of experience handling crises for Su Yi and was used to dealing with high-pressure situations. Once the initial shock passed, he immediately realized that the current scene was a golden opportunity for leverage. Without hesitation, he snapped photos as evidence and then fetched a basin of water from the bathroom, dumping it over their heads.

Drenched in cold water, Su Ye shook his head, his hazy eyes clearing up.

When he saw the situation in front of him, veins bulged on his forehead, and he glared at Jiang Xuefeng, gritting his teeth. “Assistant Jiang, you’ve got some nerve!”

Jiang Xuefeng remained unfazed by his anger. “Second Young Master Su, I think this statement applies more to you. Don’t tell me you’re unaware of Miss Yan’s current status.”

Su Ye’s pupils contracted, and he quickly realized he had been set up.

Glancing at Yan Jiaoyue, whose wet hair clung to her as she trembled and hugged herself, frightened to the point of weakness, Su Ye’s expression turned feral.

Someone had deliberately arranged for him and Yan Jiaoyue to meet in this room, using drugs or some other means to make them lose control and do something inappropriate.

Mentally noting the culprit for future reckoning, Su Ye turned to Jiang Xuefeng, his mind gradually calming.

This incident couldn’t be allowed to spread.

Softening his tone, he said, “Assistant Jiang, today’s events were my mistake. Miss Yan and I were victims of someone’s scheming. Nothing happened between us, so I ask that you keep this matter confidential and not bring it to my brother.”

Su Ye was well aware that while Su Yi usually spoiled him and was generous with pocket money, if he crossed a line, Su Yi would show no mercy.

Who was Yan Jiaoyue? She was the woman Su Yi cherished enough to betray his marriage for, keeping her secretly on the side. If Su Yi found out Su Ye had violated her, the consequences would be severe.

The thought filled Su Ye with both fear and doubt.

He suspiciously eyed Jiang Xuefeng. Could this have been his trap?

Though inwardly vigilant, Su Ye didn’t let it show, even managing a smile. “I happen to have a set of old high-grade jadeite jewelry, a family heirloom from my grandmother. I’ll send it to you later, Assistant Jiang, as an early congratulatory gift for your upcoming wedding with Sister Yan Shu.”

Jiang Xuefeng’s sharp gaze detected Su Ye’s underlying suspicion.

But given the situation, Jiang Xuefeng, a man skilled at self-preservation, wasn’t about to waste this chance to maximize his gains, even from an unforeseen event like this.

Su Ye’s offer of jewelry was far from enough for him.

Shaking his head, Jiang Xuefeng politely declined. “Second Young Master Su, you’re too kind. How could I accept the old madam’s family heirloom? As the CEO’s assistant, I’ll undoubtedly have many opportunities to interact with you in the future. I only hope you won’t mind my pestering and might introduce me to a few important people.”

What Jiang Xuefeng truly wanted was to marry into a wealthy family and elevate his status.

This was a rare opportunity to leverage Su Ye’s predicament for his benefit, and he wasn’t about to let it slip away.

Su Ye’s face twisted briefly. Was Jiang Xuefeng intent on clinging to him?

Grinding his teeth, Su Ye shot a cold glance at the tearful Yan Jiaoyue huddled in the corner, then turned back to Jiang Xuefeng, his expression unreadable. “Of course, no problem. But I’ll have to trouble Assistant Jiang to escort Miss Yan home first.”

After Jiang Xuefeng and Yan Jiaoyue left, Su Ye went to the front desk of the hot spring resort to inquire about who had booked the room.

With the help of a generous bribe, the receptionist revealed the name Jiang Shaofeng.

Clenching his teeth, Su Ye muttered, Jiang Shaofeng? That name reeks of being Jiang Xuefeng’s relative.

In the adjacent room, Yan Shu had listened to the entire interaction among Su Ye, Jiang Xuefeng, and Yan Jiaoyue. She glanced at Jiang Shaofeng, who lay unconscious and bound on the floor, and looked worriedly at Yan Su. “Are we being too reckless? Are you sure this plan will make them turn on each other? What if Su Ye complains to Su Yi?”

Yan Su, glancing at a message from Yan Jing on his phone, smiled. “Su Yi probably won’t have the time to deal with anything else right now. Big Sister has been gathering evidence of his affair with Yan Jiaoyue and officially filed for divorce today. He must have his hands full at the moment.”

Yan Shu was puzzled. “Didn’t he already know Big Sister found out about his affair? Didn’t that video of him and Yan Jiaoyue kissing get posted on Yun University’s forum?”

Yan Su shook his head. “That video was deleted within five minutes. I erased all related keywords online afterward. The Su Group’s PR department wouldn’t have noticed, and neither Yan Jiaoyue, Su Ye, nor Yun University’s administration would dare report it to him. They’d prefer to keep it buried forever.”

In the CEO’s office at Su Group headquarters, Yan Jing walked in, holding a thick stack of documents.

She rarely visited the company to see Su Yi, so when he saw her, he was immediately stunned.

“What are you doing here?” His voice unconsciously rose a few pitches, his gaze nervously darting toward the secretary’s office. Remembering that Yan Jiaoyue had taken leave today, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Yan Jing observed his expression without a trace, storing his guilty demeanor in her memory. Her face grew colder.

She tossed a stack of documents onto Su Yi’s desk, her tone devoid of emotion. “Take a look at these. If you have no objections, sign the divorce agreement at the back.”

Hearing the words “divorce agreement,” Su Yi’s hands trembled as he looked at Yan Jing in disbelief. “What nonsense are you talking about? Why would we sign a divorce agreement for no reason? You’re not a child—don’t act impulsively!”

He could never have imagined that Yan Jing would be the one to propose divorce first.

He had indeed been considering divorce, but only after meticulous planning, negotiating the agreement terms with the legal team to ensure his interests were maximized. Not like this—suddenly and passively confronted with his wife’s demand for a divorce.

Yan Jing crossed her arms and looked at him as if he were a clown. “Aren’t you curious about what’s in these documents? It’s not just the divorce agreement in this thick stack.”

Her sarcastic tone made Su Yi frown.

After a moment of silence, he opened the folder to the first page, only to see a photo of him embracing Yan Jiaoyue.

He shot out of his chair, glancing at Yan Jing’s indifferent face. Seeing no trace of emotion in her eyes, he felt his composure crumble.

He quickly flipped through the folder.

The two-finger-thick stack of materials was filled with scenes of him and Yan Jiaoyue together.

There were photos of them holding hands while grocery shopping, snuggling on a park bench, and gazing deeply into each other’s eyes in a parking garage…

Su Yi stared at the images in shock. After a long while, he looked back at Yan Jing with a complex expression. “When did you find out?”

Yan Jing curled her lips, her eyes showing the weariness of someone who had seen it all. “Does it matter? Su Yi, from the first day we started dating, I told you: if one day you don’t love me anymore, just say so. I wouldn’t cling to you shamelessly. But what did you do? You secretly kept this girl outside and carried on an affair in the shadows. What do you take me for?”

Su Yi was rendered speechless by her questioning.

He knew his actions were wrong. But he had no feelings for Yan Jing anymore. He was utterly infatuated with Yan Jiaoyue and felt a responsibility toward her. He had been waiting for the right moment to divorce Yan Jing.

As the president of Su Group, his marriage wasn’t just a private matter. A divorce would affect the company’s interests, and he couldn’t let it harm his career.

With this thought, he turned to the divorce agreement Yan Jing had drafted.

Sure enough, it demanded half of the marital assets.

“Yan Jing, don’t you think this asset division is too much?” His eyes filled with anger as he crumpled the agreement in his hands.

Yan Jing coldly regarded him—the man she had loved for over a decade. In the end, he had disappointed her completely.

She had thought that when she proposed a divorce, he would at least try to keep her or say something to save face. But all he cared about was asset division.

“What’s excessive?” Yan Jing’s voice carried a trace of bitterness. “Was it excessive when your mother forced me to quit my job after marriage to have children? Or was it excessive when you begged me to take the heat from your parents’ constant nagging about grandchildren? For five years, you’ve seen my struggles in the Su family. Have you ever stood up for me?”

“Your mother nitpicks and berates me daily, and you told me to endure it. Fine. Because I loved you, I endured it. I became shrewder, tried to deal with your mother tactfully, and worked to reduce conflicts in your family. But what about you? You looked down on me for losing my pre-marriage grace and called me worldly. You fell for a younger woman and betrayed our family. Su Yi, ask yourself honestly, who’s the unreasonable one?”

Her words struck Su Yi like a hammer.

He was left speechless by her accusations.

He had always known what Yan Jing had sacrificed and endured in their marriage. But he had taken it for granted, assuming it was what she should do as a member of the Su family.

Yet, when she laid it all bare, he realized that he was the only one who had benefited from their marriage.

The atmosphere became tense.

Suddenly, Yan Jiaoyue burst in, looking like a lost soul.

“A-Yi, I just encountered something terrifying outside. A group of thugs tried to rob me, but thankfully, Assistant Jiang saved me…”

She had agreed with Jiang Xuefeng to spin the day’s events as an attempted robbery orchestrated by her stepsister, Gong Nanxi, to frame her.

After all, Gong Nanxi had extorted money from her more than once. Previously, she had been powerless to resist, but now she had Su Yi as her powerful protector. How could she not strike back?

Before she could finish, she noticed Yan Jing in the office.

Yan Jiaoyue’s face instantly drained of all color.

“I’m sorry… President… I didn’t know you had someone else here…”
